I appreciate the input and comments from all.
DBM, I was saying 1C1 because of the long hoofs, in my (old) book they only have one variety with long hoofs and it's with fine wool. They have no listing in my book for Coarse Wool Long Hoofs. The weight's off the colour's off and if everyones right about it being coarse wool, well maybe it's not real.
Does anyone known of counterfeit of this token?
Cheers, Bill

Here's an ICCS NF-1C1 on ebay301722965192Note the difference from your coin in the ram's horn and the way the strap cuts into the fleece. These are what I use for markers, found about twenty years ago likely in Coins Of Canada. Never heard of long hooves 'til today, looking at your token and the ICCS token, yours does indeed have longer hooves than those on the certified NF-1C1 Here's one on ebay that's the same variety as yours. 172041771503

Ok guy's, this is where I got the info about the hooves. Below is a photo of the page from the Charlton "Canadian Colonial Tokens" 5th edition I think it's 2003. It's funny It doesn't mention letter size at all. Cheers, Bill

the stars signify large letters, the rosettes signify small letters

M d in guy, this does look like the coarse wool though. The link DBM supplied shows one graded as NF-1C1 and you can see the difference in the fine wool as to the wool on my coin. Is there a listing in your book for a coarse wool small letters. Does your book have the same four listings for these as in my book or are there more. Even better would be if you could post a picture of the page with the info. If it's not to much to ask.
Cheers, Bill

I also think the top of the "H" could be a marker for the 2, a straight and symetrical upper for the fine and a narrow at the cross in "H" getting wider as you get towards the top for the coarse. Only my opinion based on the pics avail. The reverse is #4 also as shown above.

Here are a few photos that may help...... I am not sure if it is a marker for stars, hooves, coarse wool or both, but the tail of the sheep on the coarse wool/stars coin shown below is much shorter than the tail on the others. The tail of the coarse wool sheep goes only part way down the E of Grace, while the tail on the others goes almost to the bottom of the C. Plus the ribbons under Rutherford are quite different. These seem to name like much better markers than the hooves if they tie together. First is an 1846 with Rosettes that appears to me to have fine wool. The fine wool is more evident when compared to the coarse wool that follows. Next is one with coarse wool and stars. There appear to be fewer clumps of wool on the back of the sheep. Next is one the same as the first I think..rosettes and fine wool. Finally a similar token from 1841. Hard to tell if this is brass or copper.

That's a very cool token Hounddog Bill. I love it! I wasn't aware that such a token was ever made. Now I have to start looking for one to buy. My mother was born in Harbour Grace and most of her brothers and sisters still live there. Thanks for posting!

A neat way to determine fine vs coarse wool - on the coarse wool variety the two curls at the top of the fleece to the right of the ribbon give roughly the appearance of "25". This information is taken from Dr. Courteau writings on the Rutherford tokens. This is noticeable on your token.
BTW nice grade!!
The above only applies to the Harbour Grace Tokens
