Be careful about throwing cats out the window. I may have to send one of my BIG cats over to have a talk with you. OH..! Please don't buy anymore Hot Water Heaters. Even though this may shock you don't have to heat water that's already hot..! catman

I haven't forgotten about the question....still working on it. Is it 25% nickel or 25% of a nickel?

Which answer do you want to go with Susan?

I don't know because I haven't found a common denominator yet. I'm hoping when you tell me which you meant, it will all fall into place

Which answer? If you're talking about the coin question, that was from Collect4Fun. I'm still waiting to find out if it's 25% nickel or 25% of a nickel. I also don't know if his answer is going to help me get the answer to his question anyway. I think I've analyzed it to death.

You gals & guys are giving up already? Susan was right..... The answer is a Jefferson nickel or 5 cent piece. A nickel weighs 5 grams while a penny ( Lincoln Cent) weighs 2.5 grams, so it is 200% the weight of a penny. A nickel's diameter is 0.835 inches (21.21mm) while a Roosevelt dime's diameter is only 0.705 inches (17.91mm), so it is ~118.4% of a dime's diameter. A nickel has a thickness of 1.95mm and the Washington quarter is only 1.75mm thick, so the nickel is ~111.4% of a quarter's thickness. The monetary value of a nickel is 10% of a Kennedy half dollar (5 cents/50cents = 10%) and a nickel is composed of 25% nickel (the metal nickel, Ni). The other 75% of a nickel made of copper. That was a toughy, how about this one..... A man makes the following proposition to his friend: "I will let you flip a coin 20 times. Each time the coin lands on heads, I will give you $2.00. However, each time the coin lands on tails, you must give me $3.00." His friend flips the coin 20 times and the end result is that no money is to change hands. How many times did the coin land on heads?

Answer: 12 times on heads; 12 x 2 = 24 / Heads; 8 x 3 = 24 Even money.
