Welcome Pro! I am heading your way this tuesday, there is supposed to be a beautiful garden park that the wife really wants to check out. I'm here in Biloxi. Welcome to the forum, I'm new as well.

Bob L ...
I lived near the high school as I was growing up ... corner of 6th Street & Lewis Street. But prior to moving, I lived in Lake St. Louis for about 5 years. St. Charles buffers up to St. Peters near Cave Springs/Truman. That's a nice area. Best to you .. take care.

Interact? Well, heck, tell us how you really feel about the ex and the coin collection thing. Did we sell her jewelry and split the proceeds? PSA: Family forum

Hi, Parklane!
She had little jewelry. When we married, she had virtually nothing. That was over 35 years ago ... not fretting about it that much any more. I've moved on and she is deceased. I'm happily married to a lady who encourages me to get back into coin collecting.
Best to you, my friend!

Thanks for the welcome. Much appreciated. And Bobby, I really appreciate you correcting my user name!!
So far, I've enjoyed my brief stay here. I anticipate that will continue.

Your story has a familiar ring. Here, husband lost some of his early collection under similar circumstances, but I encouraged him to get back to it when he could. We joined forces, which led to some silliness through the years, collecting randomly here and there, mostly US coins. Now we have to sort it all out and figure out what we did. Hope you will have fun getting back to the hobby.

CoinCollector2000 ...
Howdy!I live in Decatur, Morgan County ... real close to Huntsville. Our granddaughter lives in Guntersville, just the other side of Albertville from you.
Everywhere else I have lived, mostly large cities, there were a plethora of coin shops/dealers. Coin collecting seems to not be a very popular hobby here in Alabama. The closest legitimate coin shops (rather than pawn shops and bullion dealers) is in Birmingham, 95 miles away from me. Looks like I'll be doing lots of online business!
Good to "meet" you!

nyteachnowayz ... Kind of sad, isn't it!? My divorce was in 1982. She is now deceased. I'm starting to put together a decent collection ... small right now, but growing. I have 23 coins at the moment, mostly medium to high grade. Looking forward to more buys/trades! If you are interested, here is a link to a site I created over this past weekend that shows a few of my favorite/best coins: http://dixiesinger.wix.com/mycoincollectionGood luck with your collecting! Those are some beautiful coins, Alan. If you love toning, we will try to find a way to photograph a couple that we have. We are novices at photographing the coins, and hope we can figure it out along the way.
