Ok...here's one for the label haters. Get this:

Here is a COMPLETED SALE for a "First Day of Issue" version of the medals..and we know how rare first day of issue coins are (all of them that presently exist)

So this distinct rarity sold for a reasonable price I guess:

Remember...someone actually paid this. Reinforces my motto: "Don't sell 'em what you want, sell 'em what THEY want"

WOW. I think I'll list my (not graded) 2nd set of S&W as "First Day of Issue" and see what happens.

That is just ridiculous. I have no sympathy for the buyer. None at all.

And there were EIGHTEEN bidders with SIXTY bids. So either it was a shill party or there were a lot of folks that really, really wanted to throw away that much money.

Now, I can understand getting caught up in the excitement of a bidding war and spending more than you had planned on an auction, but that's just crazy.

I would laugh if the winner thought they were going to flip the pair for profit.

I would freak out if the winner was actually able to pull it off.

Got my grades back (NGC)....10 medals...six 70's...four 69's

Sounds pretty good but 5 of 6 70's are w's...only one complete 70 set.

Up for trades if anyone has more S mint 70's then W's

I am excited too about the low mintages also, that's always never a bad thing....... Can not wait to receive the S version......
