JimmyD, on reflection, I am wondering if instead of far off, the grade is some non-standard rendering like say F 18, VF 25 or VF 35?
I am going to change my grade to VF 25.

AU 50 very weak strike, not wear from circulation, that is my guess

I won't leave this going too long, since it's a bit of an odd one. Yes, the scuff marks are on the plastic.

MS62 or F12 About equidistant from the grade I would give. I'll go for the bottom. F12 it is.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning... -from PCGS website

Usually we see great hair detail on these..so I will also go down to an F-15..just to mix it up a bit more..
..and the reverse shows next to no wear ...Go figure..!!
So I'm changing my mind here and now it's an MS 60.....(greaser..?)
..and that's because the rims are perfect in a few places with a raised bead in spots on both sides..

Okay, I'll put everyone out of their misery since clearly no one can grade this properly - It's actually a New Brunswick cent in F-12 with a tall 6 ... sheesh

Ah, I didn't see DBM's edit, but he still missed the province and variety.

Swing and a miss. Send it back to ICCS and tell them to guess again.

I would venture a guess that there's a NB cent out there that matches these credentials, but with the insert for this NS coin. It would be cool to reunite them.

Somewhere there's an F12 coin with an EF45 grade and a happy ICCS customer.

Couldn't tell if the scratches were on the coin or on the holder. That's why I didn't comment (didn't know if it was cleaning or not). In a scenario like this, would the coin sell at the price of a F-12?

I picked the coin up off ebay for $10 shipped, so that's closer to VF money, but I suspect most bidders were looking at it as an F coin as cheap, lower grade TPGed coins will realize higher than raw in most cases. In hand, I think it would likely make VF. There's some doubling on the obverse legend. I bought it more as a curiosity, but I'm happy with it.
