It would be interesting to see what PCGS or NGC would say about this one. As Slider23 posted, it could go either way.

Jaobler, you might be right, but the coin has a lot of luster. It might be my photography technique using too much light diffusion. I just took a few additional photos with a single light source at a couple angles that shows the luster better.

I see no signs of circulation, but not great eye appeal. MS-61 but might squeak out a 62.

This one's on the border between 61 and 62. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say 62.

MS-62 for me, but there are probably AU-58 coins with better eye appeal

I strongly agree w/ the 58 and the accompanying darkening of the patina in these areas supports this fact which prohibits this coin from entering MS land.

However, because of innate photographic limitations the only hesitation with my assertion would vanish if the op states that the darkening remains constant no matter what angle one physically views the coin w/o a camera etc.

I went back and looked at the coin again. I had thought this was a low MS, but there does appear to be a slight luster break in the lower cheek. So those of you who thought this was a slider might be right. Tough call, even with the coin in hand... Thanks for your opinions!

yep, this is a tough one. AU58 or possibly MS62. I'm leaning toward 62 as I'm not seeing any signs of circulation on the reverse at all. wing tips, eagle eagle neck and talons are all pristine. coins tend to display wear on both sides, if it was circulated you would see it on the high points on both sides

Most will say MS60, but this one is AU58.
