MS-64, a hit mark on the top of the shield and a rim dent left of CENTS.
Not sure of the color but a beauty .

Also a tick in the field to the left of "5". I don't think that's a rim dent left of CENTS. I'll say 64 as well.

Yes, the mark next to the "5" is a nick; the rim "bump" is a Cud (a break on the rim) on the die, and therefore not a defect. These hard copper-nickel planchets ate dies like candy. The mint personnel called the alloy, "the devil's copper."

Yep. These coins are made of 75% copper and the alloy on these coins was not always mixed that well. Planchet problems, including laminations, are not that rare.

The few contact marks are all small and non-distracting. Strike seems above average for the stars and bars type, with sharp radials on most stars. Luster is hard to see but I presume it is at least average for a Shield nickel.

MS-64 with a shot at 65.
