Yeah the weights are all good but wasn't sure why the blackness was around the edges like that. Improper storage or something? Acetone doesn't do anything

They all look fake. I think you got scammed.

How does the thickness compare to genuine coins? Have you XRFed them?

Hm that don't sound good. Idk what the xrf is and I don't have any other piastres to compare them to. But the weight is what it should be and they all sound like my silver dollars. Should I compare thickness to a Morgan? Also the seller was a 50+ year old woman so don't know if that means much but didn't seem too alarming. What other ways could I tell authenticity? Details looked good when I compared to pictures online

The irregular rims and smashed look to the obverse tell me all I need to see.

The example shown in the pictures seems to have that mushy cast "look" about it.

With these being one of the most heavily faked world coins around, I would not hold out much hope for their authenticity.

Unless the specs are the exact same as that of a Morgan dollar, that test is useless. You need to check thickness because a common trick is to make the coins thicker so that they weigh the same as a coin made of the real metal.

Look for imperfections (pits, marks, etc) and see if they are present on all the coins. That means that they were all made from the same counterfeit dies.

Well bummer. I will have to try seeing what my lcs says and contact the seller. I would be super surprised if a 50+ year old woman was selling fakes knowingly and see if a return could possibly be worked out... It definitely didn't seem like a "too good to be true" sort of thing since they wanted a normal amount of money by each at first unless it was a giant hustle.. thanks for the opinions. Thought I did the research but apparently not enough.

Fake. Hope you are able to get your money back. Being Craigslist I expect the seller will have selective amnesia and forget that they sold you these coins and deny all responsibility. I don't want to seem mean spirited but this is an obvious fake.

So I read bleach will tarnish silver and make it turn black... Is this not what normally it would do then? It appears black to me...

Perhaps it is plated... Whole coin turn black from the bleach.

Silver oxide is black, so in all probability that's what it is if they're silver. Silver cream will take it off. You might do that to one of them, but you'll end up with a shiny.

Bleach is a strong oxidizer and probably will turn silver black if you give it enough time.

These coins were cheap enough that you might want to test to make sure they are silver. It will spot and wreck the coin though.

I would have serious concerns to the authenticity of the those pieces
