It'a a nice coin and worth having. Looking for a slabbed Peace dollar, ebay auctions would be my first choice, especially with all the ebay buck offers out there lately. Just some more worthless (free) advice

I would not pay over $35 for the coin. The reverse does have a couple of milk spots that are common on Peace dollars. Between PCGS and NGC there are over 150,000 1922 Peace dollars graded MS63, so there are plenty to choose from.

I would say $35. I bought a nice MS 64 Peace for $32 and sold it for $36, so pay less than my selling price.

I agree with slider and coin. $35 seems ok for that coin but I don't like the milk spots. Personally I would hold out for a 64 with no spots. Going rate is about $50 on those.
Rest in Peace

A 64 will only cost a little bit more.

Agree, although this does look nice for the grade based on the pics (which are not the best).

The price for MS-64 was in the mid-forties & MS-65 right at one-hundred.

Well, I purchased it for $40 w/ free shipping and that was the best deal I found on ebay for a 63 and Buy It Now. I received it today and have to say I'm a little disappointed. The milky spots are as pictured but the fuzzy obverse pic hid a lot of marks, especially the one on the jaw. Also, the slab (I'm assuming an older version?) has a lot of its own marks and haze.

I could return it for a few bucks. What do you think?

A recreation of the seller's first pic that would have probably steered me away...

I see what your saying with the small gouge on the jaw. I think it's still very attractive and absent of the ugly toning that is so common with Peace dollars. The milk spots at the top of the obverse don't bother me. If you don't like, return it. Just forgo your morning Starbucks coffee.

If there is some consensus that it's a solid 63, then I think I'll keep it.

I don't think I've ever returned an ebay purchase because I usually just resell it instead, and I don't really want to start now unless you all think it's overgraded.

I value your opinions!

Just ack. The MS 64 I bought for $32 had FAR better eye appeal. And I didn't hesitate selling it for $36.

I'm not a huge fan due to the milk spots but technically it probably is a 63. $40 is a little high but not horrible. It's going to cost you about $3 to send back. If I were you I'd probably just keep it and chalk up to a lesson learned.

Thanks for the input.

After posting I did kind of decide to say "lesson learned" and move on.

At least I'll have this one for future reference on what to look for.
