The coin has AU detail, but there is environmental damage as well, unfortunately. The green spot inside of the letter "L" in "LIBERTY" might be especially telling.
I don't think that dipping this coin will help; it might make it worse. I would leave it as is unless you try a professional restoration service like NCS. I think that their opinion might be the same as mine. At rate the cost of restoration probably won't be justifiable.

I'm in at EF-45+ . I'm dead set against dipping any silver coin that is not a full 63 or better . To me ,how can you have a blast white coin with signs of wear on it ,even at a 2 second dip I don't think it will benefit this coin . Real nice SLQ , touch up that green spot by the L ,and leave her be .  |

Dipping will not improve that coin. Not all of the toning will be removed, and what will be left will make that coin very unattractive.

There are some coins that do benefit from a dip. In this case I agree with billjones I'd like ncs do something on this, then take the chance on doing something that you'll regret. If you decide to dip (which I don't agree with for this example), don't dip it too long, they say a few seconds.

The lustre is dead from prior dippings.
Serious environmental damage now. Trying to remove the heavy tarnish now will leave huge fields of pitting where the darkest toning is at.
Leave it alone and let it rest in peace.

Good news...the green stuff was a tiny bit of junk...just fell off when I touched it with a toothpick. Second thing is that I was just comparing it to a PCGS MS-66 FH example...and it has more detail on the face, shield, and eagle's wings (than the PCGS example) I'll take the time to get some better pictures here in the next couple of days...(between fishing trips)

Wow...way cool full head at one time. I like everything about it but the toning. XF/AU for level of wear.

Great detail. Tone too dark to holder I believe. AU-58 details net AU-53. Cool coin.
