That is not a match on the mint mark position and not the same doubling as 1970S-1DO-028.

Thanks coop. Now, what is it? I do see doubling on motto, could this be one of the three CC Non-listings of proof examples? CC makes no cross ref to any other attributors, how can one find out?

Not a RPM. Note the top of the '9'. It shows the same MD.

You know what, I was thinking of the coin on the right. But the one on the left is not a RPM either. Those lines near the mint mark are from a damaged punch.

Very similar but not identical. MM in wrong spot, no matter how hard I tried, just couldn't move it up higher! The mystery continues, still think DDO, just can't match known listings?

I thought you were Coop. Boy, they sure had a lot of trouble with those punches.
Crazyb0, I guess it's unlisted.

Update, think it's WDDO-034 as listed on Wexler's. Matches description for motto doubling, not enough pix there (_only three) to fully attribute, do other die markers or date/MM listed so not 100%. Back at it tomorrow.

The hub doubling on WDDO-034 is on the tops of the devices, not on the outside edges of the devices. (which is MD) So take another look on the tops of the devices?

Well after all this discussion and a submission to John Wexler the verdict is in:

Quote:
I have processed the coin that you submitted for attribution in a package postmarked May 5, 2017. I am sorry to say that the only doubling that I see on the 1970-S cent is Mechanical Doubling. I cannot find any doubled die doubling. I regret that the evaluation could not be more favorable. Good luck with all of your collecting efforts.

Sincerely,

John A. Wexler
