Not much of a fan of copper. Silver has many attractive designs, as well as a lot of variety among the commemoratives. I love the Indian designs on gold, but not so much the Saint-Gaudens, and the other classic gold designs have the same relative blandness as the coppers.
While my favorite designs are among the gold, there are only two of them. For overall appeal and variety, I give the edge to silver.

My favorite would be silver, I just love the look of a wholesome, problem-free silver coin, whether circulated or MS. I do enjoy looking at classic gold, but I suppose that I avoid getting attached to it because I couldn't afford it. As for copper, there's just so many nuances in grading it per EAC standards that I get too confused.

I also love US silver coins of all types. BU and well circulated. Both are beautiful. Also, nickels & cents are great too!

Silver by far! it looks quite beautiful when fresh and white, it can take on attractive, natural looks when honestly circulated, and can have the most beautiful toning. I'm a silver guy all the way!

All coins are more attractive in top grades. The Walker design suffers a bit more than most - a wear line develops along the body of the eagle, and along the line of Liberty's body.

Copper, copper has a "warmth" to it that silver and gold can't match. They come across as cold and sterile.

Silver by far for me. The reason can be summed down to one word.
Toning

Silver for me, no question. I can find a beautiful silver example in any grade, without feeling disappointed. Lustrous gold coins are stunning, but under an AU grade and I think they lose most of their appeal. For copper I only really enjoy looking at large cents (and Flying Eagle cents, if they count).

I guess it would have to silver for me too. Even the circulated silver coins seem to retain a majestic appearance. Plus that distinctive sound of silver when it comes in contact with a hard surface or with other silver coins - nothing else like it in the Coin World.

I like all of them, although in recent years I have become somewhat of a "gold bug." As a type collector have collected "samples" of everything. Of course with I think about "classic coins" my mind runs more to coins from the 1790s and the 19th century.
