It looks close to XF with Questionable Toning. If it graded then I agree with VF35.

I'm thinking the unnatural color looks cleaned to me.

Weird toning. It does looked cleaned and retoned but Maybe it's that crazy Wayte Raymond toning going on? My guess is this is AU since that seems to be Mike's target grade for SLDs...either that or XF-45.

I just came across this thread today. I put a bid on the coin last night, and I am the current high bidder at Heritage. I need a PCGS Seated dollar for my type set. The coin sold at Heritage this year in a NGC holder for $528. The coin is now in a PCGS holder. Both NGC and PCGS gave the coin the same straight grade. I agree the reverse on the coin does have some strange toning, but I liked the color. If I had seen this thread, I would of not bid on the coin. My current bid stands at $528.

EF-40 it sounds like you fell for the toning, the important thing is " you like it",but do not bid anymore if it goes above yours, just bail out!

Yeah I was scratching my head on the reverse toning as well. I think the obverse is palatable and might be genuine. But the reverse leads me to believe this was a sulfur job. I didn't bid and don't plan to bid on this one. If you win it please post pics of the coin under some light.

My bid did not last long as the coin is at $552.00. I am done bidding on this coin.
MikeF, you may want to give the grade as it is over 48hrs.

I'd call it XF-45. The toning could be artificial but I'm not shocked it received a straight grade. Personally I'd hold out for an example with more eye appeal.

The PCGS coin sold for $660 a strong increase considering the coin sold a year ago in an NGC holder for $528.

There were 31 people tracking it. Smells like a bidding war. I fell asleep so didn't get to watch live.
