What is that? a counterstamp of some sort? I'd say AU55 as well

lack of patina in damaged area and other things I see indicates PMD. Broach or necklace that may have been soldered and removed. |

So Roger, Do you think this was struck on a flawed planchet that flaked off with time? The rim next to the flaw also shows some signs.
