SPP-Ottawa is a member here. I'm sure he'll find this soon.

@Amael, sorry, I assumed too much. @SPP-Ottawa is a member who collects and knows a vast amount about Canadian errors. He also knows another collector in Ottawa who may be the world expert in Canadian $2 coins. Between the two of them, they will have an answer for sure. Just have patience.

Look on a website coinscan.com you will find almost an exact copy of your toonie on a nickel planchet but different year, you have a really cool error about 1500 to 2500 bucks

Just a guess.. maybe a Canadian 50 cent planchet? Just noted the weight of yours is way heavier than the 50 cent planchet.

Most likely a foreign planchet rather than 50c piece.
I had one very similar except 1999, sold it for $750.
Doubt you would see over $1000 but good on ya if you do.

Is this the same coin you posted about back in 2013? http://goccf.com/t/162610The price estimates given to you back then really have not changed...

If I had to sell it what would be the best place or way to do so?

I just found the second page lol, yes it's the same post from back in 2013. I'm trying to find out if there's any other 2005 out there and if it's worth selling or keeping?

I guess the main question is where did you get it? If it was essentially found at face value, then I would sell it. The value estimates on both topics seem fairly consistent. I would use ebay to sell and probably a Buy It Now w/ Best Offer listing. Good luck!

I found it 10 years ago, I put a Toonie in a drink machine and didn't realize it was all sold out so I pressed money back and that's the Toonie that came out.
