Even if this is a lamination error, the value would be determined by the grade. The photos you provide aren't quite sharp enough to offer an opinion.

Not so sure of lamination error on obverse Loo's like a scrape in a NNW direction flipped a piece over and whatever caused it had enough pressure to adhere this flake. Same w/reverse, but all could be caused by faulty planchet to begin with. Because of the amoynt of damage to an otherwise XF coin it isn't worth than a few bucks, at least that would be all I'd pay.

Looks more like damage then lamination , even the rims are messed up .I believe this damage happened when this coin was unc red . Now it's almost worthless .

This looks more like post mint damage than a lamination error especially considering the areas around "T" in "CENT" and "STATES" on the reverse.

Even with the damage, it's pretty cool to find a coin that's 100 years old. I think it might have some small premium value. It would probably be more fun to keep it.

I actually believe it's a lamination issue, not PMD. There may be some extraneous damage but, that's not what most of the "anomaly" is, in my opinion. Lamination issues can happen anywhere on the coin, including the rim/edge. I see a diagonal path affected running across the bust and a corresponding diagonal area on the reverse.

I'm also leaning towards it being a lamination error, the affected area on the reverse is consistent over the devices, something you wouldn't see on a coin that's just been scraped. Can you take some angled photos to get a better sense of the depth and scope of the anomaly?

Changing my opinion as well - anomalies appear to be in the same area on both sides.
