Quote: I've never purchased either the dollar set or the LES (don't collect ASEs), but from the pictures it looks like the dollar set comes in a blister pack and the LES comes in individual capsules? Correct...but I could never figure out why I didn't have to send a sealed shipping box to NGC when I had a bunch of 2017 Congrats sets (2017-S ASE in capsule) sent for grading...just the Mint packaging. I even got the packaging and capsules back....

Quote: 've never tried to open and re-seal a blister pack, so I don't know if it can be done effectively, but if it can then I'm sure that someone out there is trying the coin switch I mentioned previously. Any of the cardboard holders with the coin in it there's almost always some markings from where they removed the coin even if you get the packaging back Quote:Correct...but I could never figure out why I didn't have to send a sealed shipping box to NGC when I had a bunch of 2017 Congrats sets (2017-S ASE in capsule) sent for grading...just the Mint packaging. If it was before they probably just didn't foresee the market run up

The price run up occurred before the coins were put on sale since it was known it would be a quick sellout (two minutes). My point with the returned packaging is that I bottom fed on a bunch the PF69's in the $70-80 range (now $90+)...the raw coin in Mint packaging goes for $130-150 This dude has sold 3 raw at $159.95 https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-S-PRO...AOSw1WJZEh4KDoesn't take rocket science to figure out if you put a 69 into a OGP you can make $50-70 per I should add that all but one of my 69's look flawless to me. One PCGS had a spot on the obverse

I only got my one set 2016.
The only year I doubled up was 2007. Loved the format for 2007 and 2008.

I believe Fox was marveling that you could theoretically buy a graded 69, pop it from the slab, jam it back in some OGP and resell it for a large profit.

A number of different products being discussed here I realized later that I went with the flow and commented on a product outside the topic of the thread. It does make things confusing. Quote: I believe Fox was marveling that you could theoretically buy a graded 69, pop it from the slab, jam it back in some OGP and resell it for a large profit. Correct

Someone with WAYYY too much free cash BUT...I am escaping the cold and on vacation now but you bet I will be putting a few on the market when I get back to see what happens
I found it a bit funny that it was sold for $2199 and the seller still added three bucks for shipping

I fear that one day there will be rude awakening for those who essentially pay for special packaging - the coin itself can be bought for a fraction of what some are willing to pay because it comes in a special folder. Well, not me...

That sale is the very definition of ridiculous.
