Coppergold,
This has been posted many times in the past. You may want to do some research on it. Some people say a die clash and some say it is something else. Use the search box upper left of page.

To John and halo Well that blew my mind I would have to say. I am guessing that the reason the metal floated that way would have to be because of a pressure difference in the die? Or maybe the die was slightly tilted and some sort of indirect die transfer occurred due to pressure difference. I mean I really can't say that for sure either. But it's how my minds eye would like to see it. What would you guys guess on how that happened?

"Who are you, ooo, ooo...ooo ooo" the long original version note the green winkies!

Quote:
Who Are You
The Who
LYRICS
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
I woke up in a Soho doorway
A policeman knew my name
He said you can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away
I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwin' punches around
And preachin' from my chair
Well, who are you? (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
I really wanna know (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
Tell me, who are you? (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
'Cause I really wanna know (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
I took the tube back out of town
Back to the rollin' pin
I felt a little like a dying clown
With a streak of rin tin tin
I stretched back and I hiccupped
And looked back on my busy day
Eleven hours in the tin pan
God, there's got to be another way
Well, who are you? (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
Oh, who are you? (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
Come on and tell me, who are you? (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
Oh who the are you? (who are you? who, who, who, who?)
Who are you?
(Ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh)
(Ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh)
(Ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh)
(Ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh)
(Ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh)
(Ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh wa, ooh)
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
Who are you?
Who, who, who, who?
I really wanna know
(Who are you?)
(Who, who, who, who?)
Ah who the are you?
(Who are you?)
(Who, who, who, who?)
Who are you?
(Who are you?)
(Who, who, who, who?)
Oh tell me who are you?
(Who are you? uuu)
I really wanna know
Oh I really wanna know
Oh tell me who are you, you, you, ah you?

A few images of some of the dies listed on the PCGS COINFACTS site that I found interesting with this die failure.

Thanks Richard. Yeah it's rather interesting. I love the fact that there is mystery behind this coin. :) maybe one day the mystery will be cracked.

To me, the idea of a working hub that was breaking down makes more sense to me, rather than a die issue. The dies created maybe showing the hub changing before the failure of the working hub. The cause of the failure? Possible they working stock was not softened before they were attempted to be hubbed?

This is some really interesting information. I have three of these coins and now I have a better idea as to what caused this. Thanks to all involved!!
