I am glad Mark asked and you explained it because it is really helpful for those of us taking notes.

Yeah, no kidding - My eyesight sucks so I have to see something other than fat letters. Give me some split serifs at least.

Here's my cent next to a normal 1934 cent. Check out how much thicker those stems are than the normal die. The first is the normal die

No problem. I was talking more about DDRs on wheat cents earlier. There's not many major ones that I know of.

Here are a few listings on Variety Vista:

With the flattening it makes it harder to see what is doubling and what is flattening. But they show more die stages and you might find a matching marker to tell what die stage it was when it was struck?

The thicker wheat stems will usually jump out at you when examining them in hand and the dots are dead give away most of the time. They will look oblong, nice find congrats!

I think he was thinking of DDRs, not DDOs with his comment.
1938-S has a nice one:

Note to self: do not bother to check wheats for doubled issues...

I don't know how bad my eyes are but for those of us of a certain age; I got the whole alphabet...

Hi! Great find Will Burton. I can see the Doubled Die areas on your coin.I am new here and want to learn. Is it inappropriate to ask a question on someone else's Topic?

I would never know either I have a few hundred wheats I have went through for rpms and major doubled dies and other noticable errors and varieties but I would never be able to tell if any are doubled die reverses
