I would like to see this

You tried it?

I've seen 40 cal ammunition go through vests with ballistic plates so I'm pretty sure they'll go through a little silver.

You keep using this word "hardly"... I do not think it means what you think it means.

(borrowing loosely from I.M.)

A shame to see that happen to an ASE but cool that you got a freebie!

People have done a lot of different things to coins over the years for no particular reason. Lay it on the Railroad tracks and straighten it out ;) it out.

Just don't do it with a million-dollar coin and you're fine.

I bet most would be surprised with the power of a bullet and a gun. I bet a .22 caliber bullet would pierce a ASE. I am not willing to try it out on one of my ASE's! I know for a fact a .22 caliber bullet will go through a 90% silver Washington quarter very easily.

No, but I surmised it was something around a .30 caliber bullet that did the job, most probably a rifle round more or less similar to the one used as a prop in the last photo. I'd opine that the actual culprit was more likely a full metal jacket than the lead tipped type pictured.
