It looks like someone tried to cut it in half with wire cutters or something similar. It is definitely PMD. You can see the entire line of displaced metal from the cutting action, which includes the S in TRUST being shifted over. In Memory of Crazyb0 12-26-1951 to 7-27-2020

Maybe cutting action but look at the space between the nose and the crimp there's a small spot that is untouched

So if someone tried cutting it wouldn't the S get crushed not pushed up and look at how straight the edge is, I'm a machine operator for 30 years and I've never seen wire cutters that makes a perfectly straight edge.

And then there's a crease down the center of the groove that resembles a die crack

Poin, that stinkin zinkin in my post was actually cut with a pair of lineman's snips (electrician's scissors) if I can find the old poste pic I'll put it here. BTW, think kid's in grade school with those big *** paper cutters  Edited by Crazyb0

It's not a die crack. It's wire cutters or some other cutting tool. Definitely NOT mint damage. It's PMD. |

The S survived because the cut was made at an angle.
People do weird stuff to coins.
