unc details scratched. neck scratch is pretty distracting. TPG likely straight graded.

if choosing a singular example for your type set, don't know why you would choose one with a large scratch across the neck. plenty of better examples out there.

Nice strike , Eagles head and neck feathers are strong . Denticles on both sides sharp . I see a couple of scratches on neck ( obverse ). I'm going with 63+ virtually a 64 .

I have to agree with numismatic student. I was on the fence between a straight grade at MS-63 and MS details, but I'm going to go with the latter because that scratch is rather significant. However, I would say PCGS gave it a straight grade. Definitely look for a problem-free example, they are out there.

In my opinion, the scratch is not significant enough to warrant a Details grade.

No idea on the grade, but I really appreciate seeing a MS Barber half. Any chance that neck scratch is on the holder?
