Are those weak spots on the beads from overused dies?

Can't wait until we start to see all of the 2018 coins in circulation. Still trying to find people who get change rather than using credit or debit. I am not out shopping very often and the larger purchased items such as gas and groceries are spent with credit card.

What is the correct alignment of the 8 for the 2018 date? Below is a picture taken from ebay and you can see how different the placement of the 8 (date) is from the circulated coin above!

How strange that the 8 would be so huge in relation to the other digits. Seems like a problem engravers might have had 100+ years ago.
Numidan: Very cool! I guess that image is of a PL strike or some other collector production. It would be really neat if there were dramatic High Date and Low Date varieties for the circulation strikes.

I've always liked the beaver design. The 8 does look rather large.

@Numidan-- sure is a difference in the placement of the 8 in your photo and the coin I found. Thanks for posting. I have not found another 2018 coin since, still looking.

It's not the 8 that's off.
Look more closely.
It's the 201 that's moved up or down.

Yeah, you should notice on their roll set for 2018, the loonie has two dates on both sides. And also, you should look at the size of the 8 in the 2008 nickel. It's the same.
