Holy carp! You have 12 coins and 16.667% of them are 3CN! You better be careful or you'll have some people on here...okay...namely me...trying to convince you to expand on them.

Thanks for your opinions and advice!

Over here it can be quite an effort to get some better US coins. By saying "better" I mean something other than:
-the current circulation series
-Morgan dollars
-Indian cents
-Buffalo nickels
as only these seem to be abundant here. Although I must point out that the last three types are almost everytime so worn that I wouldn't consider buying them..
Anyway, Ken_3567 you're right, I do want a silver dollar. But not in such condition as those currently being on offer (VG to F). And it wouldn't do any harm to have some modern ones either.

*ElleKitty, very nice gallery I must say. With a beautiful photo of the 100 yen, exactly the one that has been evading me ever since I started my South-East Asia collection.. Just can't seem to get it here!

*Prethen, the 3 cents are my favorite ones. That explains the avatar, however now I feel I unintentionally copied yours..

I'd say you've got a great start! Puts my classics to shame! Even though I have the same number of Polish coins none of them are out of the late 1900's.

Most of these are probably still in circulation, thanks for sharing and to the community!

I am in the U.S. and I don't own most of those coins!

Edit:
I just picked up a neat Polish coin though...
Seller is in Ukraine.

Buying a 7070. :)

I don't have any polish coins. Are you under the Euro now? I would be willing to find some of the moderns and mail them to you. Assuming you are trying to do a type set. You can maybe send me some cool modern coins in return.

DL20K

The Morgan and Peace dollars here have about .77 oz of silver in them.

I noticed that Poland has several coins that have silver content. If you would like to swap out some silver ZLOTYCH coins for some Morgan or Peace dollars I would be willing to do so.

I collect silver first and coins second, so as long as the silver content is the same, I really don't care so much about the colector value of the coins.

Just let me know if you are interested.

By the way, you have a much nicer set of US coins that a lot of the people in the US that collect coins.

DL20K,

Thank you! I'm very glad to know you enjoyed browsing my coin gallery :) And I'm guessing that you're speaking of the 100 Yen with the Phoenix? That is one of my favourite Japanese coins. I love the toning to it! I have several of that type but none quite as lovely as that one. :)

sfwusc, there is no Euro here yet. We still have the Zloty. When you check COINAHOLIC's photo, you will find some there. Top row: 10, 20, 50 groszy are the ones we use now. Bottom row: 2 grosze (the brass one) is also a circulation piece (there's also another 20 groszy there). However, by some accident there is an Austrian zinc 2 groschen in the bottom row too. Finding modern ones shouldn't be any problem for me. In fact, I'll check what I've got right away.

ratio411, nice one, with one of the earlies dates! It's a 1/2 grosz I suppose? I'm no expert on medieval ones though.

ElleKitty, yes I meant the Phoenix one. No wonder it's one of your favorites! Also I love the design of the 1935 10 sen coin, which I still have to get as well.

COINAHOLIC, thanks for the welcome The others on the photo (I mean all the 20 zl and the aluminum 5 and 20 groszy) were withdrawn in 1995/96. About 240 zl in these coins was worth 1 US cent then. People didn't even bother to roll these and take them to the banks..

Good catch my friend and moved the 2 groshen to appropriate page! I guess that makes it 11 Polish coins for me. Hey wait a minute, you still win.

COINAHOLIC, no problem, glad to help.. in a way
ElleKitty, I tried to send one. I hope that I did that successfully.

Anyway, I've transferred some of my coins into more proper storage and.. found out this. One of the Two Cents is slightly rotated.. Should it be like this?
(the other Two Cents is normal)

I think it's a very nice start! The average U.S. citizen today probably wouldn't recognize most of them- in particular the large cent, and 2- and 3-cent coins which have been obsolete for more than a century. Those appear to be better-condition coins as well... I know that my own 2c piece is not nearly as nice.

Are there many older Polish coins available there, or has history taken too great a toll on them?

Lets see you are missing what that I could help you with

Lincoln steel
Lincoln wheat
Lincoln MC
Jefferson nickel
Jefferson War Nickel (35% silver)
Mercury dime (silver)
FDR silver Dime
FDR regular Dime
Washington Clad quarter
Washington State Quarter
Bicentennial Quarter Half and dollar
I might could find the two one dollar coins too (Susan B. Anthony and Sacaqawea)

Not sure I can find them all in the best condition, but at least you will have one of each type. Would it be possible to find a good mix of polish coins worth 7-8 US dollars? If so, then email me your address and then I can add a lot of different types to your collection.

When I said 7070. You know I was talking about this right?
I am using this link because it has good pictures. I don't think this price is that great, but they did a good job with the scans.

lanispet, yes there is no problem in getting Polish coins here, including the historical ones. But there's also a lot of demand for them.

sfwusc, I figured out what a 7070 could be and it turned out that I was right. Some people use that kind of album here for the new commemorative issues.

spotco2, I wonder which of the Polish coins have .77 oz silver? Everything I can think of has less, or much less, the 1930s 10 zlotych being the closest with slightly more than .5 oz..
