Hi TNG!
I stopped by this thread yesterday to read the docs I posted on Page 1...
When I saw that post by that new user asking for info, I just felt like a jerk for not seeing it years ago. I tried to write to him but his account is set to "no email". ugh... oh well.

Came across this thread when searching for coin/medals commemorating George Gershwin. I think I am definitely interested in acquiring a Gershwin commemorative and perhaps the "Star Sprangled Banner" commemorative for my Musicians Coin Set. It is really strange Numista doesn't mention these...

Quote: It is really strange Numista doesn't mention these... @NumisEd: Medals are not a strong point of Numista - it lacks info on many individual medals and medal sets. As Numista is user-supported, the lack of information on medals reflects the collecting interests of those who contribute to its listings (the majority are focused on coins vs. medals).

It is really strange Numista doesn't mention these... I had 40 of these beauts but sold my set a couple years ago when silver hit $29 (was hoping for $40+ like we saw 10 years ago but didn't happen)... I still adore the high relief and artistry of these medals and recommend them to anyone who will listen. Re: Numista - I'm a member there too and I love their catalog of coins and exonumia. I considered creating pages for the whole Longines set (60 pieces) but it's a LOT of work and I would have had to import 3rd party images. That's why I created this thread instead.

I bought two of these, in memory of my two direct ancestors, John "Jack" Dunn b.1736, and his son, John "Jack" Dunn, Jr b.1758. I've considered engraving each of them, on the side, with their names. One for each of them, on the 250 year anniversary.

I am interested in buying your lot of 120 silver half dollars. But the website has blocked me from responding directly to your post because I am a relatively new member. Contact me if you want to hear my offer.
