It was my birthday this past week and hubby got me the 2007 mint proof set and the silver mint proof set. They are gorgeous!
I bought myself the whitman Indian Head cent folder because the few I have were in envelopes and thats no way to display coins
And the Kennedys I bought from Nelrak arrived this past week as well.
And the $40 worth of kennedys for my 2 folders....
It was a wonderful coin collecting week

Happy be-lated birthday Lucky! :)

Yeah you went on a coin collecting frenzy over the last week. Of course, I do that each week it seems. Too many wants, not enough funds.

Happy hunting.

I went to a local coin show on Saturday and picked up a few very nice type coins. I purchased an 1833 capped bust half dollar dime in fine, an 1835 Capped Bust dime in fine and a very beautiful golden toned 1889 V nickel in VF. I wish I had more to spend because he had some very nice Carson City stuff but I had blown my budget for the month already...

I know that my purchase of the week is not a coin, but it has more to do with coins then you would think...

I bought two, beautiful handmade Oriental Rugs at an estate sale this weekend. (My girlfriend talked me into it.) One is 9'x12' and the other is an exact copy only it is 6'x9'. This is the big one...

Buy-Of-The-Week

The real kicker is that I have no place to put the big one except rolled up in my basement...lol.

Now, what does this have to do with coins? EVERYTHING! It is the reason that I can't buy any for a while!

P.S. Don't tell my GF, but the rugs are for sale, I need my coins darn it. I'll even take $50 off the price if you take the cat too. lol. jk.

I just bought some Buffalo nickels for under 20 cents a coin (w/ shipping). This was loaded with keys and semi-keys (though almost all were restored dates). It did have one original 26S key, and 8 13S T2 restored. Only about one-third were dateless coins. One of my best buys ever.

I just bought a complete set of silver eagles. They are beautiful coins. I paid $480 for 1986-2008 BU Silver Eagles. I don't think I did to bad. Now I just have to keep this set going!

Two highlights for me, both firsts. Being new, that isn't hard. Received my order from the US Mint, and drooled over their beauty. Went to my bank and bought $86 of coins.

Question: I asked for a roll of halves, douting I'd get one. All she had was one lonely half in her drawer and none in the vault. Do I need to make a special order to get them, or just keep trying sporadically?

My goal for 2008 is to finish my LHC 7100. I went to my first coin show in over two years today. I left with a 1909S LHC that caught my eye.
