When you think, I'll start looking for one of these. Keep in mind, there are only 3,000 of these. (unless they pull production of this die) On business strike cents hundreds of thousands of these were struck. Just a low number of proof coins are struck with the same dies.

So as the die aged the bottom of the G gradually disappeared, interesting and easily seen with your clear pictures. Nice!

Thanks everyone! And Prizm, I'm not using anything fancy for the full coin shots. Pick up a Canon S95 for about $50 on ebay and you'll get the same camera I've got. The close-ups are with a high end AmScope but I mostly cheat and just use my iPhone through the lens instead of the onboard camera. Phones take excellent macro photos with the right lens attachments. |
