It's a killer. If Heritage has given you feedback based on pics, consider it carefully. It will only become more common, not less common.

This is a remarkable example that might bring major bucks at auction today. Sorry, thought you had submitted these images to Heritage for evaluation. If not, strongly suggest so.

I did. They called me wanting my business. Said estimate between 10 and 15K. Don't know if that is possible.

I think it's all depending on what PCGS would grade it. They are far and away the more popular slab service for Morgans (generally bring better pricing). Heritage is probably not far off, if the coin is advertised right and sold correctly - meaning they get it to the right people. The FUN show is big for VAM collectors as is Long Beach, not so much at ANAs for some reason. Though Heritage I'm sure wouldn't steer you wrong, they may be a bit high on their estimate, but they want to be the auction company selling it. Get it in the right sale, find the right buyers, let them see the coin in hand and if it's a higher end straight graded coin $10-15K isn't out of line. Depends on the cost to you to try I suppose, how much buyback fee would you be willing to risk. The current VAM market seems pretty strong to me, especially the higher grade ones.

West Coin, do you think this will grade numerically or go the details route?

Pawnstars expressed interest in having it on their show. Thoughts on if the exposure will be beneficial?

That's a no-brainer. Your scar-face will get celebrity status.

I'm not making a call on a coin like this without being in hand, but that reverse does look weird. The obverse looks okay from the photos, and rainbow toning always seems to up the value. The obverse is the focal point of the variety and the color doesn't interfere or detract from the die break, so that is a plus. Definitely nicer in appearance than the MS64 last sold, but I don't know if it beats it in a straight grade shoot out.

Are we taking guesses on what Rick's lowball offer is going to be?

While a trip to Pawn Stars would get out the word on this pretty dang rare variety and possibly increase VAM or coin collectors, I can't see him actually owning this (unless he has a quick flip in mind, which I'm sure he does), I can also see the coin appearing on the show and getting either a no sale by the seller/actor, or selling (fake, due to scriptwriters) then returned at the end of the show. It's an idea. The whole show is pretty well scripted anyways. As to my call on the grade you asked for, I already said MS62 but MS63 even a or + designation with a CAC green bean would be my thought after more consideration and seeing the extra photos. Good luck in however you play it, this is a super cool VAM and an extraordinary TOP 100 rarity, besides the 78 VAM-44 I think it's one of the TOP3!
