If original, why is the edge so shiny? These coins were punched from a sheet that was plated on both sides. The edges should be bare steel looking somewhat dull or rusted.

I question this one. Why is there light colored areas on that coin?

Hi EV...

Now after seeing that shine/no shine on the reverse... I have even more questions?
Is that perhaps plating that fell off? Maybe saved those spots retained, because they seem a bit more depressed on the surface... ? If that makes sense?

Maybe a formerly plated coin with wear?

if plating is in fact the case... it would be amazing if all plating would fall away to reveal the original finish...

Hoping it is not plating... but I am in question.

My lighting is bad... in 2 ways, I do have a second room light source and using micro can lighting which is diffused to some degree but I am thinking to set up a better way to diffuse the lighting.

Bad micro camera and harsh type lighting... Sorry!

Should I have this post moved to Grading forum, to get some response? I would really like to know if I am looking at original or reprocessed coin.

And if so or not... how would it grade or effect grading if plated?

I wonder if your coin has been reprocessed (replated)? Looks very odd to me. Doesn't look like a normal coin with original plating. If it's been replated, then I am pretty sure it would get the details grade.

I also think getting it moved to the grading forum would be better, in this case.

I apologize for being late, on the follow up questions. I've been super busy with life in general.

Can I get this post bumped over to grading forum or should I set up a new post for it using my already uploaded pictures?

I know my 1943 P was reprocessed... It is very blue and shiny, that is why I put it next to the coin in question for comparison images...

Late to the party but as others have said it is re-plated. The edge is the deciding factor for me.
Not a sign of rust on the edge and the uneven areas of plating/color.

There is also an uneven area to the left of the shoulder near the rim. This is a sign of plating over an area that probably started to corrode.

The shot of the wheat ear appears to be tape removed some, or protected some of the finish. The exposed surface faded with age while the underlying portion was protected. Maybe taped to a card or page ?
Also in front of Lincolns face in the first photo, it has a very similar appearance to the "Z"incoln cents plating.
