If I may pry what was then price? I just reserved one, mind you in lower grade, at the LCS and wanted to know the price difference.

I've nailed a couple of super $1000+ coins on ebay in the last couple months, all PCGS or NGC. My jaw has dropped more than once over my too-low sniper bids winning. Apparently there are some type areas in higher price brackets that are not being spotted. Stacks, Great Collections, Heritage - all normal for prices although the "collector series" continue strong on higher grades. It seems ebay is a good place to look for bigger dollar coins that are REALLY sold at auction. |

I can see why you couldn't pass this up. with the luster still peaking through I think it could be XF40. the high points on both sides are strong. the date, lettering, clouds, rims and upper wings. the more I look at it the more I'm inclined to go XF45. cant wait to see the post on this one

Whoever guessed VF35 was correct!! Here's a couple photos of a CAC'd XF40 for reference, I think my coin is worthy of an upgrade   I only paid $750 for the coin though so I can't say I mind it being graded the way it is  Edited by Suomi
