My personal opinion on unsearched Wheat cent rolls is a joke. Those so called unsearched cents have been looked at many times before they were rolled.
Granted the rolls as sold may not have been pre-searched, but I am quite sure ever coin was looked at by probably several different hands before they were rolled.
I have absolutely ZERO confidence in un-searched lots, bags, or rolls of coins.
For example, I have a large bucket of Lincoln cents, 10,000 is a rough estimate. They have not been searched by me, or anyone else.
HOWEVER, I have gone through and picked out each and every Copper cent. But I have not searched for any particular dates or errors. I could sell them as un-searched and would not be lying.
JMHO.

I own these, just didn't know if it was worth breaking it open or collecting it as a roll

Do people collect "unopened" wheat rolls?

I'd open it. In my opinion, being wrapped in a 1995 30 coin 'sweepstakes winner' wrapper is a bit of a gimmick--carries very, very little if any extra value. On the other hand, keep it unopened if that's what you like--no harm in that.

I'd save one just for chuckles. It will probably prove to be the most fun you will get out of the rest of the rolls.

If they weren't searched, how did they know they were all wheat cents?

I opened the roll and I think the forum comments were right on. Three from the 40's and twenty seven from the 50's. I did find what I think is 1957D-1MM-005 so not a total loss.

Neat find!
Given the age of it, I would have guessed most are EF shape, pulled from change before too much damage...?
