An excellent buy in the numismatic after market.
This sort of happenstance is the reason why I am not attracted to newly issued mint product. Better price driven cherry pick bargains are to be found by the second buyer.

Discreetly slip an AmEx Platinum card in the slot behind one of those Certificates and make that sweet thing your new everyday wallet.

Great deal! there's so few coin shops anymore! I'm surprised they're able to sell at spot and give away high end coin holders free. Makes no sense! Oh well! good buy!

There is the other side of this story, the LCS must have paid much less than bullion to original, such a sad state for unpopular NCLT

i agree, shop pays 2.50-3.00 per coin less than spot/ per coin. then sells at full spot. Just like bullion coins, where they pay spot, or spot plus a buck, then sell for 3-4$ over spot.

The point I was trying to get was why didn't the LCS pay melt like bullion coins, around the GTA for the last year or so honest dealers just refused offers for NCLT and the other dealers offered melt. You can be sure the original owner will not continue in this hobby

my best guess is the original owner didn't sell these coins, probably came from an estate, who doesn't care, or doesn't have the time to sell them and maximize value for the estate.

just saw that myself - on ebay. Kind of sad that a real collector didn't get it first and enjoy it for what they are, for a while before flipping for the almighty dollar.

not very nice to call me not a real collector. I already have every coin in that set, so I purchased it to pass along to the next collector to enjoy..

I never posted originally to advertise them for sale. Some other poster took care of that. I posted so others could enjoy looking at them, and the unusual case they came in. I had never seen the leather case before and I figured others would enjoy seeing it.

The posting wasn't so someone else could try to undermine and demean my original reason for my posting.

In my opinion @silverwolf is correct. There is nothing wrong with buying and selling for a profit.

I do not see why you cannot mix commerce and be a collector too. Most dealers I know also collect, although usually they collect more obscure items in order to avoid competing with their customers.

I would not hesitate to buy something that seemed undervalued and resell it in order to finance my hobby, not that it happens very often. A lot of CCF members do that. Some of us do it for a living. Most of us are happy to get a bargain because we see something that others have missed.

thanks oriole, like I said I wasn't trying to promote this , just trying to show fellow collector's out there what is available , and the one off's.. And yes I do sell to finance my other coin purchases.. I just didn't like being called not a true collector..That hurt..
