Unfortunately its just the glare in the pictures that makes it look doubled. Not DDO FS-101.

Just a normal coin. Not even close to the real deal.

Probably these reason we are not seeing a doubled die, is that these devices are normal sized. The lighting creates glare that reflects off the devices like a spotlight. Try having the light flow in the opposite direction. Allow the light to shine on the side without what you are trying to show, and allow light and darkness to be seen. Let it fall over that area, without spotlighting it.

Enough light helps, but too much drowns the image. A lot of the 1970 DDO's are found on the date areas that you are probably not noticing:

http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=mds
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds
Note on the next one, how the devices are enlarged larger than normal?
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds
Note on this next one a tripled die:
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds
Note on the next one how the devices are larger than normal on some of the devices, normal on others?
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds
Note how minor this next DDO is? Note the area is raised from the fields and not flat looking like Machine Doubling looks?
http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/...ie_state=eds
Notice on the next set of images, the spread? The area showing the over/hubbing of the die is making the wider, showing spread on the centers of the devices. Machine Doubling affects just the outside edges of devices:

I hope this help you to see what is hub doubling better. Having the correct light will show us, what you are seeing.

I do see something. And I see what you are talking about. YOu have to understand that everyone has different vision and color differentiation. What is clear to one person is totally obscured to another. That happens alot on these types of questions. People tend to err on the side of caution.

Having said all that, I will agree that the pictures are not focused enough to give a definitive answer. However; I do see some evidence that it could be a DDO.

Dbeck, look at the pictures on VarietyVista again and then look at your coin. You can see that it's not even remotely close to a match.

When mint marks are present. They can provide another pick up point, when trying to make a die match or like in this case, eliminate the possible die match due to the mint mark locations not matching. Thank, Doug.

edit: adding "location".

I am sorry, but I have to agree with all of the above points. At most, you have some Machine Doubling, otherwise, you have a normal coin.

The MM location in your last group of images are good enough to tell it is not in the correct position to be DDO-001. Your coin has it above the bottom of the tail of the 9. The actual variety has it lower than the 9.

Now that is a proper reply! Based on fact not opinion!
