It's a beautiful coin. But I see what could be hairlines. I'll say Genuine - Details FB. If the price was right I would get it.

Reveal time! Several of you got the grade right, although only macmercury identified it correctly as a Micro-S I myself was surprised it graded FSB (I guess I am too harsh).

I didn't think it was a Micro S , I guess because the photo was so blown up that the MM looked normal . I bet others will say the same .

I assumed it was a micro S just from our emails :) Merclover. The fine hairlines still bother me, even if die polish marks. For a good price I would still buy it as I'm not that picky, but to me they distract from how nice the coin is overall.

Good news, bad news. This coin is for sale, (that's the good news), but the seller wants four figures for it (that's the bad news). I'd love to own it, but...

I wouldn't pay that much. I like my circulated coins :)

Price wise the Mercury dimes series for the short set is down time being, even in grade MS-67 FB, so it maybe a good time to pick it up. This example though is for the die hard serious Mercury dimes collectors to consider on whether is a buy or not, IMO I'd rather see it first hand before making such decision, or just move till I find the one.

I like MS examples, but I think I'm with you hfjacinto, I'm just as happy with circulated coins too. With the few series I collect, I like to have one mint state example just to see what a prime example should look like, but otherwise, I'm ok with coins with honest wear.

macmercury, is $1299 even a price you would consider for this coin? I know it probably could be had for less, but at this price it seems crazy. Would you say a 1945-P in MS-67 FSB an even tougher find than the 45 Micro-S?

@merclover,
That would be book prices, and agree that price is on the high side. I would gladly pay a 1945-P in MS 67 FB for that price, if I'm that lucky.
