@Dust, how can anyone possibly discuss whether or not it's real or fake without discussing the likelihood of it being real? If you told us you had found a Faberge egg, the first point would be that you almost certainly did not because the odds are overwhelmingly, impossibly high against it. Knowing that there are only a few of these in existence and there are thousands of very competent forgeries out there, the standard of proof needs to be *way* higher to accept that this is the real thing than if you had found, say, a minor doubled die that no one would bother counterfeiting.

I don't believe it to be genuine. My opinion is worth a tad bit as I have actually handled a genuine 1943 copper, raw mind you, so I know what to look for.

When I blow the image up IGWT doesn't look right. The IN GOD especially. The letters are thin and look slanted and pieced together. The date is way off from what it should look like. Heres your cropped image. Others will see what I'm talking about. Looks to be cast fake and definitely cleaned

Someone should list the die pairs for regular 1943-S steel cents and see if they match up to the ones on this coin.

dust3110, this is why we discuss the odds of it being real....

We already told you what we think, and you don't want to listen. Why ask then, what's the point? Don't get mad at us, it's immature. I think this thread is just a dead end. You refuse to listen and it's not good. You just don't want to hear it, do you?

Anyways, that's it and I am done.

You realize that would be around 400 die pairs.

No it's not that I do not want to listen it's that I am not getting a good explanation of why it's fake.
