Thanks! I will certainly look into it. If I were to get it into an air-tight, would it slow down/stop the spread or growth of these spots?

Would it be best to put a coin like this in a 2x2 or air-tight capsule? I mean obviously air-tight is better but when it comes down to cost, what would be best? At what point does a coin become worthy of an air-tight capsule?

Nice one. I sold a MS63RB version of this coin for $150 recently. Still have a 64RB. Yours looks 65RD at least. Batts has a few of these in 66RD. I think he sold one in the $600 range. Awesome coin. I'll post one of my recents now! Another easy one to pic

Thanks Willburton! I am greatly pleased with the coin but now worried about the spot on Abe's forehead. Will 100% acetone do the trick?

Industrial strength acetone will do very, very little to address the spot--if the spot is of the nature of similar looking spots one finds on older, nearly pristine Lincoln cents. Some casually call these 'carbon spots'.
Nice coin!

Thanks! So there isn't much I can do for the spot?

Nice coin. Very useful information CH27. If we all use BIN, then we don't have to worry about competing with each other! You see it first you buy it.

Thanks to you both! I am pleased with this coin. Hopefully the spot won't spread.

CoinHunter27, you asked what you could do about the spot on Abe's forehead... I would recommend checking in with who I believe is our resident expert in that area, CFF member BadThad. He is the maker of Verdi-care and might he might be able to steer you in the right direction. If you'd be so kind, please share the final results of this quest with us here, as I'm sure others would benefit from the information. Good luck! p.s.- nice find!

Thanks! I will look into contacting him, or maybe he will swing by this post at some point. I have searched for Verdi-care all over and I've had no luck. There are a few coins I need that for!

@CH27, it's about as rare as it gets. I don't want to speak for him, but last I spoke/heard from him he was winding down production rather rapidly and is only sporadically producing and selling any. My 15ML bottle had an issue price of $15, I've seen full 15ML bottles sell for 10x IPO.

That's what I heard as well. I've accepted recently that there may be no hope for some of my coins that have problems like this. It's unfortunate but it's reality.
