I'm not a Mr know it all however what I can tell you is it was struck at an angle onto another Lincoln Cent during minting it happens when the die becomes stuck to the die lifting it & then hitting the top coin yours in this instance at a downward angle into another Lincoln Cent in the process creating the design rim mule die clash if I'm mistaken. I've got 1 2 for a rare key date with a dual error

Quote: This coin it is an counterfeit coin. I don't think so. Mule die clashes are a legit thing. Maybe them being called "mule" isn't very technically precise but they're a legitimate and rare subcategory of die clashes. Here's the listing for the 1999 "Mule Die Clash" referenced in the video: http://www.maddieclashes.com/mudc-1c-1999-01/

I agree Tanman2001, I think people see the word "mule" and associate it only with dual denomination errors and so dismiss it as crazy talk. As you pointed out (years ago) the OP's coin is very interesting MAD die clash MDC-1c-1995-02.

Quote: The strangest expression of such an error is the mule clash. Here the photo of the MDC-1c-1995-02. http://www.maddieclashes.com/mdc-1c-1995-02/ ) For me do not past. Do not fit the denomination and also I saw a few of those and theoretically is not possible to have so many as this. This it is my opinion.

To me these look like a "dropped die issue" onto this die. Miss handling of the dies.
