Not heard of these dealers. I would echo what others have said Vcoins and CoinIndia would be your best bet to find what you are looking for.

I would actually advise against Vcoins for Indian coins, excepting Indo-Greek and gold. On average they mark up their coins 5-10x what you would pay for the same thing on ebay or even auction houses. I have dealt with Indiancoins before; very reasonably priced for the most part, packages usually arrived to the US within about 3-5 weeks. What specifically are you in the market for? I can give you some pointers about where to look; keeping in mind that Indian coins ususally sell cheap, but certain types may only pop up once every few years.

I sometimes go the Google Images, if I have a coin already very basic idea of identification then refine the ID by image matching. When further refined, I then do a price research, also using Google Images because the images found are also often depicting coins for sale, or are of prices realized for auctioned coins. I just have to bear in mind that pricing for some of them may not be quite up to date and so pricing adjustments may have to be made. Google Images is a great tool for ID and price research across the whole of numismatics.

@Finn, yes I have noticed that vcoins prices tend to be rather grossly inflated. Mind you, I used to deal with Calgary Coin when they came to shows in eastern canada, and the show prices were not inflated.

In the UK, Baldwin's regularly deals in Indian coins, as does Robert Tye. You may find yourself running afoul of the law if purchasing directly from India.

Alex Fishman of Ancient Coins of Canada has been extremely helpful to me. He's written some local books like on the coins of the Western Satraps. He's helped me fill in three centuries for my collection, 282, 382, and 1282.
My experience with Steven Album has also been great.

Hi,
Thanks for all of the responses.
Can I ask how much vcoins/ma shops overcharges on average? (Did you mean 5/10% more Finn235 or 5 10 times more!)
Google images is a great idea.
Do you have a link for Robert Tye,Kushanshah?
I like to spend roughly £100 a month on coins a month (I'm buying a house next year.). Any additional sellers that people can recommend would be great.
Thanks again

For VCoins and MA Shops, with so many dealers, it's sorta like being at a coin show. I've seen stuff that was a great deal to me and I pounced on the spot. I see that some particular dealers tend to be high and I'm sure they know it. But for a lot of of the sellers, they seem to be within the realm of the market. Lots of nuisanced stuff to research and opportunity to dig through auction benchmarks if that's your thing. I wouldn't say their is a standard markup any different than the average dealer just like if you were at a coin show. You can always reach out and ask a seller about the price and a discount if that's your end game.

@orkneycoins Robert Tye used to issue price lists of affordable Indian coins and I've seen him listing recently on ebay with a moniker something like earlyworldcoins(?). Here is a link to his profile on academia.edu: https://independent.academia.edu/RobertTye. I believe you can message him via the platform.

I also think that the advertised prices for the listings are higher than average for grade.
On one hand, I take the prices with a grain of salt, but on the other, the pricing can be somewhat of a useful guide on current comparative market pricing, as well as for matching images. I also use Google Images to help in my pricing research in much the same way. This is how I re-found the Stephen Album reference for this thread. This dealer I had known of indirectly for many years, via personal reference.

Hi, I'm from India and both the websites you listed are pretty genuine. I have dealt with both of them multiple times, but as you can infer, all transactions were within India.
The first website is owned by Gireesh and Yogini bhambani, who are reputable numismatists in India.
Indiancoins is owned by Mohd. Sultan, who also has an auction house, virasat auctions in India.
In terms of genuineness, all their listed articles are absolutely genuine and as you can see, significantly lower priced than either ma shops or vcoins.
Thanks.
