It looks like a broadstrike to me. I see what you are calling Cuds, but honestly I know very little about them and can't say one way or the other. I'm interested in others opinions so that I can learn. Nice coin

Was the weight mentioned? It looks like a thinned/tapered planchet issue from the weakness on the rim areas?

Agreed it could be a thin planchet issue. It weighs 2.97g. So a bit light and a bit too big of a diameter.

So there are multiple issues with this strike.

Interesting error I never heard of. This coin has no vertical edge cracks but not sure if that rules this out or not.

TB , in this pic I put an arrow pointing out lines on the edge of a cent. These lines are ejection lines, caused by the coin scraping it's way out of the collar. If your coin has any evidence of them then there was a collar around the planchet when struck. Beautiful coin !

I can see light vertical marks similar to what you are showing in the pic. And the bevel on both sides seems more curved and strong with more of a thinner strip of flat surface going around the edge of the coin. This is starting to sound like the wide collar thing, with the coin getting struck and expanding a bit into the wider collar but still showing collar marks?

Hmmmm, food for thought... Would the lack of resistance caused by a abnormality larger collar contribute to the rim Cuds ?

Given that there are three of them, and they occur on both obverse and reverse, there just might be something to idea of the collar contributing to the problem.
