Thanks both of you! I might give it a quick acetone bath and see if it helps.

Very nice! An elusive variety and a toughie in any grade. Congrats on the pickup! Acetone couldn't hurt.

Really nice variety.

Try a hydrogen peroxide soak, since it's already a "details" grade. It has worked for me on occasion. I've even done a light "wipe" with a saturated Q-tip after soaking.

Excellent purchase. These are just so hard to find that you can save a lot of time and just spend a couple bucks for a nice one. (when you can find one for sale) And I'm not really seeing anything that would push this to a "details" coin, but grading is far from my specialty.

Thanks TB! Appreciate the input. I personally agree with the idea that there isn't anything on this coin to push it to details yet. If I don't take care of that Verdi, who knows what it'll become.

I was thinking the green on the coin was oxidation and would get it into "environmental" territory.

Could very well be. I'm probably going to give it an acetone dip and see if it helps.

Good luck SamCoin! I couldn't find one, so I just picked one up when I found a good example.

Awesome pick up! I'm in awe of the beautiful and well defined split serifs on the E and S and then the notching on the T's! Just fantastic! For this Cent to be 53 years old and still show these things CLEARLY is too cool. Great job.
