I'm thinking MS67+ RD although MS68RD won't surprise me either, anything less than MS67 would. Nice coin Grape!

Alright, you will all get a kick out of this PCGS graded this MS-64No, that's not a joke. This isn't PCGS TrueView trickery, this is exactly how the coin looks in hand. I was completely and totally floored when I saw this come back as a 64. My only guess is that the graders mistook the thin shallow die scratches as hairlines and dropped the grade.

WOW that is a travesty, and explains how graders that only spend an average of 2-10 seconds per side per coin, miss things so often. I'd be on the phone to them wanting this to be reviewed.

Travesty is one word! But seriously, this was almost hilariously bad by them. I was half tempted to call and complain, or bust it out and send it back, but it's almost better to have it in this slab just so I can point it out!

Seriously?
I'll gladly take a full roll of those PCGS "64" coins, please. Forget them not being in the ballpark. They aren't even in the time zone.

Quote: Seriously? As soon as I saw you and WestCoin comment I had a small giggle fit. I'm used to undergrading from PCGS and overgrading from NGC, but THIS, now this was undergrading to a new level.

PCGS tries to make up for undergrading U.S. coins by ridiculously overgrading Canadian coins. I can't tell you how many VF Canadian and Maritime coins I have seen PCGS slab high EF to mid-AU.

OH YEAH. I love those. I can't grade Canadian coins for crap, but I'm still better than them. Quote: They are not in the year. That's crazy. That coin would have been ms-68rd if I was the grader. I certainly feel 67 would have been fair, I doubt the plus, they're too stingy.

At least you got a nice photo from them. They did a good job on that.

Grape thought I'd fix the old photos in my post on a 1921 Morgan from the era right after ANACS started tightening up grades, I sent in around 40 coins at a local show in Fort Worth to be graded, most were nice VAMs and 8 TF dollars. This one I was so sure would come back at MS64+ or better yet... http://goccf.com/t/108179So all the companies do it, and but you PCGS Lincoln Cent is not what I would expect from them and their cost of submissions. At least I only paid $10+ shipping one way to get... well you get the idea. LOL

Not sure how I missed this thread.
66RD
Have to say I don't know what PCGS didn't like about it. Must be the eye appeal doesn't match what we can see in the pictures.
