TNG- please don't make me list all the coins, lol! It was a lot of older (1800's) Canadian, German, French, and Italian coins mostly. There was also a couple of 1700's Mexican 1 Reale coins. The American stuff included this Fugio cent, an 1822 Coronet Head cent, an XF condition 1852 3 cent silver piece, and a very rusty 1857-O Seated quarter.

I was thinking the clash marks actually helped it in the verification. It does look most like the "States United Cinq-4" coin IMHO.

Thank you all for the input! Please- anyone else feel free to post. Since it appears to be authentic, I am going to send it off to PCGS for grading and a slab. I am a member of both PCGS and NGC, but I have a couple of free gradings left at PCGS!

Great idea! I would send it in too. Also sounds like a very interesting box of coins. Wish I had one.

killer find. send this one off and repost it...I'm not familiar with grading these but I would say it could come in as a high VF or even XF. I think the gash at K9 could details it but this is a once in a lifetime find.

That's an absolutely amazing find from a foreign bin. I hope to own a fugio Cent someday, and finding one in a foreign bin would be a dream!

Super coin, looks good to me as well. Later when I have some time I will pull out my Fugio references and try and get the Variety ID on this one. What a find, and no kidding panzaldi, someone messed up big time!

The verdict is finally in after 3+ months at PCGS- VF30. Saw a NGC grade in a newer post of XF40 for a similar if not slightly more worn coin IMO. So maybe NGC is where I'll send my next one, lol.
