Acetone. If you haven't tossed the coin yet, try acetone. It will be an education piece, if nothing else. Try it.

I have rolls of OBW 1960-D cents. Not worth the effort. Looks like clear clue or clear fingernail polish. Spend it.

I ended up microwaving water to just under boiling, and dipping it and letting it soak a few minutes then worked that stuff loose. I know its not valuable but I like the petina.  |
