LOL! Well I know it usually takes some time for all the final mintage figures to roll in for the most recent couple years, right?

I dunno.

Mebbe it's because it will be the only one year regular issue that ran for just 6 mo?
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

The Washington crossing the Delaware is supposed to be the new quarter design but I have some doubt that we'll ever see it again.

Every design is supposed to last 25 years but this one might be 6 months!

The 2020 Coinage Act shot down the WCTD as the perm. design it was scheduled to be in the ATB act.

The text of the 2020 act has 2021-2025 for notable women, 2026 for semi-sesquicentennial designs, and then 2026-->forever as Youth Sports.

I don't get youth sports... Baseball, Softball, Football, Soccer, BMX, Running, Madden, Halo, WoW, Minecraft... then what?

Two fold reasons here. No quarters only option and the exorbitant price of the silver proof set with less silver coins than prior year.

And I'm guessing a record low mintage since 1999?

Yup. My opinion is they price them so high because the silver proof set was priced so high for what it is. They got 2 quarters a half and a dime. They charged $105. Surely they can't sell the set for $18-20 breaking it down. Like $15-20 for the dime, $30 for each of the two quarters and like $50-60 for the half. They make $35 top end off breaking the set and selling them as singles or less if they get a bit lower offer.

Generally you ain't wrong, but its not the sellers fault it's the mints fault. You can always just buy the silver proof set for $105 from them and get the entire set.

So far the mintage figures for the silver 2021 quarters are running over 100,000 less than last year, which I believe was the lowest. Latest figures show 233,000 for the 2021's, compared to 377,000 for 2020 and 490,000 for 2019.

I guess that explains the high prices being paid for the 2021's.

Just wait until they change the youth sports thing after 2026 to Olympic quarters for Los Angeles 2028.

All those silver ones will be expensive.

It's insane how much a Silver Proof Set costs nowadays.

So true. Maybe if nobody bought them, it might send a message to the Mint. The Mint also needs to just stick to striking coins and stay out of the coin dealing business.
