Woodie. What year? I've got a few hundred similar examples--many from the '30s.

I'd have to say it's a woodie, not seeing any damage. Looks like a nice mahogany and maple combination. Wish the wood floors in my house were that beautiful.

Nice coin. Would like to see the obverse if you have the time. Sometimes the "grain" change midway through the coin. I'd say its a woodie.

Nice! Definitely a woodie. You can see the pattern is the same direction on both sides even though not as prevalent on the obverse. I like!

Woodie. But is the weight slightly under normal? Seem like weak strike or circulation wear issue? Not able to tell for sure from just an image.

Nice woody, Tony! After seeing the obverse (thanks for adding it), I can definitely say yes, most certainly a woody!

Late to the party but I would definitely call that a woody, nice coin! You got me to thinking if there was actually somewhere "official" that would have a definition and pics and it was on Error Ref. Looks very similar to yours but reversed as far as which side is showing more wood grain.
