Well it seems I got played. A friend of mine has a bunch of ordnance stamps. He stamped a couple pennies and he made certain that the store clerk gave them to me. Cool just the same.

Cool just the same. very funny, I love a good prankster. However if he has lots of those stamps, I'll bet he could make a killing on 'ordinance' (pun intended) counter stamp sets for sale.

Dearborn, what a great idea . Quote: very funny, I love a good prankster. Problem is though, before I can post items for sale on this board I will need to garner 250 posts. I did see my friend this AM and he loaned me a few of his duplicates.

Create a few 'sets' of these punches on Lincoln Cent coins and sell them on ebay. I'm sure you could profit from selling them, I have not seen anything like the punches here anywhere else. Get a bunch of same year/mint coins and start counter punching. (But go with pre '82 coins so they will be all copper)

I agree with making more and selling. The history of the actual counterstamps makes them seem a bit more special somehow to me.

I would were it not for the epay fees and taxes. No epay for me. Maybe somewhere down the road, if I live to see 250 posts here I'll pound out a few.

Quote: I would were it not for the epay fees and taxes. No epay for me. well lets see here everybody pays taxes Your 'product' would literally cost 'pennies' on the dollar for this one have the buyer pay for shipping and up the cost of shipping to cover your other costs.

It's not the money, it's the principle.
