AU-58 Details Cleaned. There are some major hairlines beneath the eagle's wings, over the arrows, and through the olive branches. I don't think they are die polishing lines, and they are enough to warrant a details grade.
Suffering from bust half fever.

for a high AU coin the fields are a little dull. I think it had a dip but not overdone and would grade straight.

AU50 maybe a stretch to AU53

It's interesting that we are all over the lot on the grades here, but we are pretty much hesitating on the same things. Regardless of what ICG's grade come in as, ICG is solid on authentication.

keep in mind some folks are grading the coin as they see it and some are grading as they think ICG graded it

The auction bidding is strong as the coin is already near $600 with shipping and buyers fees and a week to go. On this date there is a large jump in price between AU58 and MS61. I had the coin at AU58 and the bids are already over my value for the coin. My guess is the coin will sell just below the 1K level, and the winner will be paying for the plastic, but I was a little surprised that the example was getting a lot of grades in the AU53 to AU55 range. Here is the coin and grade:

If the winner ever removes that coin from its plastic tomb they will be making a huge financial mistake! It would never see that grade at PCGS, NGC or ANACS in my humble opinion!

Waaaaay over-graded!

It's one of those "commercial uncirculated" pieces that some refer to. It's an AU slider to me.

Yikes. Even on ICG's Pollyanna grading scale, I wouldn't have had a 62 on my Bingo card.

And I thought I was being just a tad generous with AU58. No way is that MS
