MS-60...looks like chatter on Lincoln's coat. Definitely better looking AU's out there.

agree with your opinion of "nasty" looking.

KYCopperCoins but the value is not at that level due to the eye appeal

Like I mentioned at the start of the thread. PCGS does not drop color designation for carbon fingerprints. They only drop the grade. Usually only one but this coin is ugly. Without the carbon it would grade a 64RD. As is they gave it a 62RD. They only give a 62-61 if they really don't like the coin. Again an educational post for some of you.

This one is live. I'm selling off a few Lincoln's to buy Washington's. https://www.ebay.com/itm/385312856972 It's a very desirable coin so I wouldn't be surprised if it goes over the $150 book value. Even with the carbon.

for the most part ugly MS63 coins are graded MS62. if you take away the ugly here you have an MS63. under all the ugly I dont think there is an MS64 coin. too many hits and marks on the obv (lapel, shoulder, jawline) so the grade is correct at MS62 for this one.
i concur with Willburton. PCGS does not downgrade a coin for fingerprints

I will made a restoration and this coin will go 64. (not 58 HEHEHE). Could be worth to do. ANACS is the best on restoration.

Quote: It's a very desirable coin so I wouldn't be surprised if it goes over the $150 book value. Even with the carbon. It's a mint state, wheat variety - condition is important but not always as important of the rarity of the variety to the right collector.

Just saw your 60 D/D - I'm in the running, that's a nice example!
