Does look like there is some rub on high points and in the fields. Strike is uneven and it's not close to full head.
If it were mine I wouldn't pay for a crossover.

Thanks guys. I'll post the grade tomorrow. It's going to shock some of you. Also this is a rare variety that as long as it crosses above a 45 it will be worth the cross.

The coin is not showing any luster. On reverse the wings are not showing any wear. On obverse the missing stars on shield appear to be strike. Some wear on breast and legs. The wear on the coin appears to be in the 55/58 range. If NGC deducted points because of the lack of luster, I can not see this coin going below a grade of 50/53. If the coin graded at 50/53, it should cross at PCGS.

If the coin graded at 45, I would consider a crack out, and submittal to PCGS.

a little too much glare to determine the difference between wear and strike and how much actual luster is there. obviously the shield is from strike as well as the eagle breast.

this one is difficult. if all the luster is there but just broken in few places then MS63. so I'm at AU55 or MS63

Sorry I've been busy guys. Like I said I have two of this variety. I went ahead and sent my other NGC MS66 to PCGS to cross. I've honestly had great luck with crossing coins. I would say I'm 9/10 with one massive upgrade.
Thanks folks!

Congrats on the coin and grade. Your photos definitely hid some of that gorgeous luster.

Thanks for the set up. I fell for it hook, line and sinker. Crack it out and submit to PCGS and it might come back at AU58.
