I just can't get a better pic of it considering using the scope. But I agree it is not toned and it was not the end coin neither, the color is uniformly even on both sided.

Does it resemble a black beauty? I can't tell from the photos.

If the overall color is the same despite circulation wear, it could be a BB? But depending on lighting that might be the differences:
Side by side with a normal coin might help more:

If were there is coin wear, and the color is lighter, then it could be an altered coin color issue. Check also the outside edges of the coin to compare with?

Sorry for late reply, had to work.
@nick10 ,it does resemble .
@coop, it is an uncirculated Nickel with no wear and the color in the image is the true color.

Another variety/error I know little about but trying to learn, it looks cool though! So are the black beauties considered varieties or errors? I would assume an error?

Chase007,
Looks nice. Weather it is a true BB or not is going to be next to impossible to know because I read somewhere that anyone can make a BB in their own home.

I'm in the same boat about nickels but I believe this would be an error (not a variety).
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

John ,This coin came out of an original bank wrapped roll ( OBW ) I can hardly believe someone at the mint or Federal Reserve Bank heated this one Nickel and then placed it in that roll .
Just sayin .

@john1, I pulled this from OBW roll and it's seeing the day light for the first time since 1963 have one mre 63-D and Two 63-P rolls that I'm itching to open.

I think that would make a big differance. I bought one from a known dealer awhile back because he said it was a BB and he is a respected dealer. http://goccf.com/t/280254

Yes it does. I probably would have had my doubts too if I hadn't pulled it out of un-opened roll and I do realize what you are referring to considering there are numerous " home made, wanna be: BBs out there "

John , I just looked at your purchase from 2017 about that Nickel . I'm hesitating to call it a Black Beauty but I might be wrong .

I know the pic is lacking, but as I said it was bought from a known dealer. Even so, I myself are not 100% convinced either.
